I think it was some thread on Reddit which got me to check out this book.
The classic “young couple moves to an old, eerie house” trope starts well, however the book quickly gets stuck in the mud on a road that is not twist-turvy, but instead a straight, clear line without surprises. If you read the first few chapters, all the mystery is done; you know where this is going. That said, I’m glad I read it, but not something that will live on in my imagination.
